Update
Add a Blog Post
1 – Login at https://brooklynfretworks.comwp-admin/
This link opens in a new page.
I think I need to set you up a login unless you already have one.
You can start a new post by going to POSTS>ADD NEW on the left sidebar
2- You can also select NEW>POST at the top of the page.
3 – Add a TITLE to your page
4 – Add your text in the white area. Make sure the tab on the right says VISUAL
This is what I have so far
5- You can click PREVIEW on the right side to see your progress. The page will open in a new window. If you are happy so far you can click SAVE DRAFT. You don’t want to PUBLISH the post until it is ready.
6 – Now we want to add the images. For simplicity, I am just going to add them below the text. If you want to get fancier, I can tell you how to use the Page Builder. You want your images to be as small as possible so they download quickly for users. In Lightroom, I chose FILE>EXPORT and used these settings. If the image looks bad, you can make the percentage higher for QUALITY. In the right corner you will click EXPORT 1 PHOTO.
The settings about took a 5.76 MB file and made it 187K
Click the mouse below the text and click ADD MEDIA.
This takes you to the MEDIA LIBRARY. You can select an image in the library or click UPLOAD FILE to add a new image.
7 – Once the file uploads, you need to check the setting by scrolling down on the right. I usually pick FULL SIZE. YOu can fiddle with alignment, but I usually wait till it’s on the page. Click INSERT INTO POST on the bottom right.
8 – Now is a good time so SAVE DRAFT and PREVIEW. If the image is too big in the preview, you can click on the image and use the handles to make it smaller.
I will let you add the other 2 images using steps 6 – 8.
9 – You want to add categories and tags. I added the guitar category. You can add more categories and no # before the tags.
10 – Select a featured image from one of the files in the post. SAVE DRAFT. You want to save often so you don’t lose your work.
11- In the YOAST section, add the text you want to show up on search engines.
12 – these are the options I chose at the bottom below YOAST settings.
11- SAVE DRAFT and PREVIEW. If the post is like you want, you can click PUBLISH at the top right of the page.
12 – Go to the home page and see how it looks. There is a box on the main page that I need to figure out how to remove, but it might be useful once there are more posts.
