Joseph “Chip” Tait has been a high-end woodworker for 25 years. He earned his Master’s Certification in Furniture Craft and Design in 2002 at the Thomas Chippendale school, where he studied under Master Craftsman Nicholas Chandler.

He built his first guitar from scratch in 2018, and hasn’t stopped since. In 2022, Chip earned the distinction of Certified Guitar Technician after completing the Master’s Guitar Repair Luthier’s Course at Southeast Guitar Repair Academy where he studied under Certified Master Luthier Barrett Culpepper. Chip remains enrolled at SEGRA where he continues his studies remotely. When you choose to work with Brooklyn Fretworks, you get the expertise of all the luthiers at SEGRA on your side.
